Method
 

  1. Season the sirloin steak with chili powder, cumin, garlic salt, and black pepper. Drizzle with vegetable oil and the juice of half a lime.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the steak for 3-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or to your desired doneness. Let it rest for 5 minutes before thinly slicing.
  3. Spread refried beans and mayonnaise on the split rolls.
  4. Layer the sliced steak, Monterey Jack cheese, tomatoes, and lettuce onto the bottom halves of the rolls.
  5. Add optional toppings like avocado, red onions, jalapeños, and hot sauce. Place the top halves of the rolls on top.
