Air Fryer Mozzarella Sticks

Make crispy mozzarella sticks in your air fryer without deep frying. This recipe is quick and easy.

Ingredients
  

For the Mozzarella Sticks
  • 1 lb Mozzarella string cheese cut into halves
  • 1/2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 Large eggs beaten
  • 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/8 tsp Black pepper
For Serving (Optional)
  • Marinara sauce

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Baking sheet

Method
 

  1. Prepare your breading station. Place flour in one shallow bowl. In a second bowl, whisk the eggs. In a third bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Dip each mozzarella stick half first into the flour, coating evenly. Then dip into the beaten eggs, letting any excess drip off. Finally, coat thoroughly with the seasoned panko breadcrumbs.
  3. Place the breaded mozzarella sticks in a single layer in your air fryer basket. You may need to work in batches to avoid overcrowding.
  4. Air fry at 380°F (190°C) for 6-8 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Flip them halfway through cooking if desired for even browning.
  5. Serve immediately with marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

For best results, ensure mozzarella sticks are well-coated with breadcrumbs. If they are not frozen, they may melt too quickly in the air fryer.
