Method
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef. Drain off any excess fat.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the beef. Cook until the onion is softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the cooked rice, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine.
- Stuff the mixture evenly into the prepared bell peppers.
- Place the stuffed peppers in the air fryer basket. You may need to cook in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
- Air fry for 15-20 minutes, or until the peppers are tender and the filling is heated through.
- Top the stuffed peppers with shredded cheese during the last 2-3 minutes of cooking, allowing it to melt.
- Carefully remove from the air fryer and serve hot.
Notes
You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for the ground beef. For a vegetarian option, use lentils or a plant-based ground substitute.
