Method
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Cook the ziti pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain well and return to the pot.
- In a large bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Add the marinara sauce to the drained ziti and stir to coat. Then, add the ricotta cheese mixture and stir gently until everything is evenly distributed.
- Pour the pasta mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
- Top with the remaining 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges are lightly browned.
- Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a spicier version, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce. You can also add cooked ground beef or Italian sausage to the sauce for a heartier meal.
