Ingredients
  

Brownies
  • 1.5 cups sugar
  • 0.5 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3-4 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.75 teaspoon salt
Frosting
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.25 cup milk or half and half
  • 1 cinnamon for sprinkling

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease or line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the sugar and butter until creamy. Add the sour cream, eggs, mashed bananas, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth.
  3. Add the flour, baking soda, and salt to the wet ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the brownies cool completely before frosting.
  5. To make the frosting, melt the butter in a medium skillet over medium-low heat until foamy and lightly browned. Carefully pour the browned butter into a large bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer.
  6. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract to the browned butter. Mix to combine.
  7. With the mixer on low speed, gradually add the milk until a smooth and creamy frosting forms. Beat on high speed for 3-5 minutes until light and fluffy.
  8. Spread the frosting evenly over the cooled brownies. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
