  • to taste Black Pepper
  • 1 spray Olive Oil or Avocado Oil
For the Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Honey
  • 1/3 cup Soy Sauce or Coconut Aminos
  • 4 cloves Garlic mashed
  • 2 tablespoons Ginger grated
  • 1 tablespoon Tapioca Flour Arrowroot Starch, or Corn Starch
  • 1/2 teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
For Garnishing
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Seeds optional

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Baking sheet
  • Saucepan
  • Tongs

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 425 F.
  2. Dry the chicken wings thoroughly with a paper towel. This step is important for crispy wings.
  3. In a bowl, combine the dried chicken wings with flour, sea salt, and black pepper. Toss to coat each wing evenly.
  4. Transfer the coated wings to a baking sheet lined with foil or parchment paper. You may need multiple sheets depending on wing size.
  5. Spray the wings with oil and bake for 30 minutes. Flip the wings and bake for an additional 20 minutes.
  6. While the wings bake, prepare the sauce. Combine all sauce ingredients in a small saucepan.
  7. Heat the sauce mixture over medium heat, stirring for 6-7 minutes until it thickens. Remove from heat and set aside.
  8. After the wings have baked for 20 minutes, turn the broiler on for 2 minutes to brown the wings. Watch them closely to prevent burning.
  9. Remove the wings from the oven.
  10. Pour the prepared sauce over the wings and toss to coat them evenly using tongs.
  11. Garnish with sesame seeds if desired, then serve.

Notes

These wings are great for meal prep. Store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or an air fryer for best results.
