Smoky Chicken Skewers with Garlic Yogurt

These chicken skewers are marinated in a smoky blend and grilled to perfection. Served with a cooling garlic yogurt sauce, they make a delicious and easy meal.

Ingredients
  

For the Chicken Skewers
  • 500 g Chicken breast cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tsp Smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp Cayenne pepper optional
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
For the Garlic Yogurt Sauce
  • 1 cup Plain yogurt
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp Fresh mint chopped
  • 1/4 tsp Salt

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, combine the chicken cubes with olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper. Mix well to coat the chicken evenly.
  2. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to marinate.
  3. While the chicken is marinating, prepare the garlic yogurt sauce. In a small bowl, mix together the plain yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, chopped mint, and salt. Stir until well combined. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  4. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  5. Thread the marinated chicken cubes onto skewers.
  6. Grill the chicken skewers for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and has nice grill marks.
  7. Serve the smoky chicken skewers hot with the garlic yogurt sauce on the side.

Notes

You can soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes before use to prevent them from burning on the grill. Serve with a side salad or grilled vegetables for a complete meal.
